  • For your first referral, we are in receipt of your dog's referral form with recent and relevant medical history and current medications, if any:
  • For puppy swims and wellbeing swims, we have your vet's consent form (you only need to provide this once, for further sessions we review periodically with the vet's practise):
  • Please ensure your dog is clean and free from mud and debris
  • Do not feed your dog at least two hours before making your journey in for hydrotherapy and at least one hour after the hydrotherapy session
  • You can bring with you your dog's favourite toy or ball and a small amount of cooked chopped meat for treats (not constituting a meal!). Please no kibble as this encourages thirst.
  • Please bring a towel to dry your dog, and any preferred shampoos
  • Should you need assistance from your car, please make this known when booking your appointment
  • Incontinence
  • Obesity
  • Breeds with elongated soft palate
  • Brachycephalic breeds
  • Laryngeal paralysis and tie backs
  • Decreased exercise tolerance
  • Cushings/Addisons disease
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Heart murmer or heart disease
  • Extreme laxity of joints - hyperextension injuries
  • Undiagnosed forelimb lameness - risk of worsening any cervical spine problem due to extension of neck

Unfortunately, we are unable to swim your female if she is in season.

  • Open wounds
  • Surface infections
  • Contagious diseases
  • Cardiac and respiratory disfunctions
  • Severe peripheral vascular disease
  • Epilepsy - one or more fits in week preceeding hydrotherapy
  • Water phobia causing extreme panic reactions
  • Vestibular syndrome
  • External fixators
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Some spinal conditions
  • Renal failure
